Wanderer
Starter / mobility
Demo build The first class the demo hands you.
The Wanderer is the starting class demonstrated in the September 2026 preview build. Its tree mixes movement, short recovery, and exploration utility rather than locking you to one weapon.

Unlock: Available from the start of the demo. Activate it through the Mind’s Journal when the objective prompts you.
Build note: Treat the Wanderer as a teaching class, not a permanent lock. Keep one weapon category equipped long enough to learn its combo rhythm, then spend points on the movement or recovery skill that fixes the problem in front of you.
Shield first, questions later.
The Knight is the class with its own official class trailer. It is presented as a heavily armoured, shield-bearing defender with block and counter options.

Unlock: Not the demo’s starting class. Class unlocks are tied to weapon and armour progression and to survivors you rescue; the exact Knight unlock step is not published.
Build note: Pair the Knight with a weapon whose combo you already understand. Its defensive tools buy time, but the damage still comes from weapon mastery and gear.
Reported as part of the demo roster.
Demo coverage lists a Mage alongside the Wanderer and Knight. Cygnus Cross has not published a dedicated Mage page or trailer, so treat the name and its kit as reported rather than confirmed.
Spell-oriented combatLikely paired with the Magic StaffDetails not officially detailed
Unlock: Reported to be available in the demo. The exact unlock path is not documented by the studio.
Build note: If you want a caster run, start with the Magic Staff to build its mastery while you wait for the class unlock. Do not plan around exact spell numbers yet.
A press-reported magic class.
Press coverage describes a Warlock that trades armour for offensive spellcasting. There is no official class trailer, skill list, or unlock guide to check it against.

Unlock: Not published.
Build note: Keep this on a watchlist, not in a build plan. The wiki will update the entry when Cygnus Cross shows the class in a build players can actually inspect.
The roster is intentionally incomplete.
The official line is that Emberville has a wide range of combat classes across melee, magic, and ranged, and that classes can inherit passive and active skills from other learned classes. The full list has not been revealed.

Unlock: Unknown. The studio says classes are learned through play, including from rescued townspeople.
Build note: Do not trust a “complete class list” that publishes exact stats for this unreleased build. If a name is not on this page as confirmed or reported, it is a guess.
